Abstract geometric illustration of a brain with football icons, including a football, football pitch, on a blue background.

Football is played with the body.
But the brain decides the game.

Football Mind Coach is cognitive performance training for football. We teach young players how to think clearly under pressure and recover quickly when things go wrong.

You might recognise this…

Your child looks excellent in training.

Then the match starts.

Suddenly, something changes.

They rush passes they normally control.

They stop asking for the ball.

One mistake seems to stay with them for the rest of the game.

You know the ability is there.

You see it every week in training.

But in matches, it does not always appear.

And no one really explains why.

What is usually happening

Most people assume the problem is technical.

  • More practice.

  • More drills.

  • More repetition.

But often the real problem is something players are never taught.

How to manage their thinking during a game.

Pressure changes the way players see the pitch.

  • It speeds up decisions.

  • It magnifies mistakes.

  • It quietly drains confidence.

When players understand this, something important happens.

They stop fighting the problem.

They start controlling it.

This is where we can help

We help young players understand what is happening inside their mind during a game, and how to stay clear, calm and confident when the pressure rises. And, if they experience a setback, how to recover from them more quickly.

Because when a player can manage their thinking, the football returns.

The Hidden Part of the Game

Most football training focuses on the visible parts of the game.

Technique.

Fitness.

Tactics.

All important.

But there is another part of football that decides what actually happens on the pitch.

The thinking part.

The moment before a first touch.

The decision before a pass.

The reaction after a mistake.

When a player’s mind is clear, football feels simple.

When it is not, even the best players struggle.

That is the part we train.

What Football Mind Coach Does

Football Mind Coach helps players understand three simple things.

1) What they are thinking during a game.

2) How those thoughts affect their football.

3) How to stay in control when the game speeds up.

This is not motivational speaking.

It is practical thinking training designed specifically for football.

Players learn how to recognise pressure, reset quickly and make clearer decisions on the pitch.

Why It Matters

Every player reaches a point where football becomes mental.

Sometimes it happens at academy level.

Sometimes at grassroots.

Sometimes when expectations rise.

Suddenly the game feels different.

The players who progress are not always the most talented.

They are the ones who understand how to think clearly when the pressure arrives.

That is what we teach.

Who we Help

Football Mind Coach works with:

• young players who perform well in training but struggle in matches

• players who overthink mistakes

• players whose confidence rises and falls with performances

• parents who know their child has more ability than they are showing

Most of the time the solution is not more drills.

It is better thinking.

Three steps to start.

1. Free Assessment Call.

Fifteen minutes with Stuart Wilson. We identify the limiter, whether it sits in clarity or recovery, and

decide together if mind coaching is the right fit. If it is not, we will say so.

2. Starter Programme. Four sessions. £160.00

Four one-to-one sessions over video call. Targeting the specific limiter identified in the assessment. Written parent reports after sessions two and four. You will know exactly what has changed and what has not.

3. Ongoing support. Optional. Monthly Retainer: 2 sessions/month. 6-weekly parent check-in £70.00 per month.

Two sessions per month. Continued tracking. Parent check-ins every six weeks. This is where the cycle

becomes self-sustaining.

Safe, structured, appropriate.

DBS checked. Parent-led. Age-appropriate. FMC works alongside coaches and clubs, never around

them. The coach coaches football. The parent supports. We train the thinking over 45-minute video calls.

If this resonates, start with a conversation.

Think about it.
